Senior Management
Luis Brown
Chief Executive Officer
Luis leads the team and is responsible for delivering the family’s overall ambition for the estate. This includes driving forward our landscape revival programme, pursuing estate-wide reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, and integrating GIS and data visualisation into our conservation and general management.
Harriet Bristow
Head of Community and Operations
Harriet coordinates the day-to-day running of the estate and is responsible for our community programme. She organises courses and events, knowledge exchanges and welcomes local schools and vulnerable groups. She works alongside the local MAYFACS charity who run their own shed and community orchard on estate land.
Brad Draga-Williams
Head of Conservation
Brad’s role is to find innovative ways to increase the biodiversity across our different habitats. He works closely with the farming and conservation land manager, as well as our buildings project manager to make their work and practices as beneficial as possible to wildlife.
Land team
Peter Leach
Farm and Foresty Manager
Peter manages our small team of rangers and stockperson on all aspects of our farming and forestry practices. He is also in charge of our available products. Peter runs an 18-month long trainee-ranger programme assisting young people in gaining the skills they need to become good conservation rangers.
George Haynes
Ranger
George carries out a range of forestry work including coppicing and the processing of woodland products such as timber and firewood. George is involved with varied conservation-specific tasks such as hedge planting, nest-box management, pond and water management. Both the rangers are also on-hand to help our stockperson.
Ben Wiles
Ranger
Ben carries out a range of forestry work including coppicing and the processing of woodland products such as timber and firewood. Nick Cheater
Stockperson
Nick is responsible for our conservation grazing. He uses no-fence technology to manage cattle, sheep and goat grazing, whilst managing our pigs as a “flying squad” for specific conservation tasks. Under our Head of Conservation’s guidance, Nick is responsible for the welfare of our White Storks, as part of the White Stork project.
Gardens team
Nicky Browne
Head Gardener
Nicky’s role is to ensure that the private gardens reflect our wider philosophy by being wildlife friendly, experimental, productive and beautiful. Nicky is responsible for opening the gardens on our NGS days, hosting knowledge exchanges with progressive naturalistic gardeners and running a year-long traineeship for college students.
Mark Tamkin
Gardener
Mark carries out the full range of garden tasks under the guidance of the Head Gardener. His role is to garden with a naturalistic style that benefits wildlife and adheres to organic principles. Mark has responsibility for managing the garden’s wildflower meadows.
Fiona Gillman
Gardener
Fi carries out the full range of garden tasks under the guidance of the Head Gardener. Her role is to garden with a naturalistic style that benefits wildlife and adheres to organic principles. Fi has responsibility for the family’s kitchen garden, growing a wide range of fruit, vegetables and cut flowers.
Property and Facilities team
Max Loubser
Property and Facilities Manager
Max’s role is to ensure the efficient upkeep of our estate property and facilities, including our tenanted properties. He oversees the optimisation of our solar energy usage, the efficiency of our biomass boiler and the ongoing management of our ground source heat pumps and other alternative energy sources.
Andrew Morton
Maintenance Manager
Andrew deals with day-to-day maintenance issues across the estate, including in our tenanted properties, plant and electric vehicles. Andrew is tasked to find environmentally friendly solutions to maintenance issues wherever possible.
Building Projects
Tim Donovan
Buildings Project Manager
Tim manages the renovation of our estate properties. He is responsible for restoring traditional buildings aesthetically and to high environmental standards. He uses a combination of modern and traditional techniques, employing skilled local craftspeople.
